Whiteboy Funk, aka Lev Melvin, emerges straight from the dry south of Israel. A musician since 6 years of age, Lev started his way as a pianist and studied classical music for 7 years. As a teenager growing up, he discovered the magic of punk rock and electric guitars and decided to switch his focus from studying the piano to mastering the guitar. Since then, the life of an innocent boy has turned into a musical mission of life and death. While exploring various musical genres, Lev fell in love with Punk, Funk, and HipHop music. During his career as a guitarist, Lev has collaborated with different bands and played with the most versatile artists. Lev breathes and eats sounds from all that the world has to offer, ranging from hardcore punk, Funk, Reggae, Hip Hop, and of course electronic music. Discovering the Bass Funk genre in 2011, Lev fell in love with the sound, and the next step was the birth of Whiteboy Funk. Along with music production, the love for this sound led Whiteboy Funk to contribute to the Israeli Bass Funk scene by hosting parties with the finest local DJ’s, bringing his favorite artists from all around the globe, and putting the genre on the Israeli map.
